The German web gear was built to last.  These military surplus samples are in great condition and the German gas mask bag has a water proof liner, heavy cordura exteriror, and canvas carry strap.  

It can be mounted to German web gear, adapted to ALICE kit, or better yet -- used a sling bag/bandoleer in a bug out or ready-bag role.  For the price, you can't find a better option.
